Omkar Hills is situated in Rajarajeshwari nagar, Bangalore. On hilltop we can find a temple dedicated to Lord Matsyanarayana, a big banyan tree, Omkar ashram, and a big HMT clock. Also, a beautiful Shiva temple is being built which resembles Orissa’s temple architecture and the work is not completed. I visited this temple around 12:30 hence there was no crowd other than lot of college students along with their girlfriends. I guess this is a good place for lovebirds. Around banyan tree idols of Jesus Christ, Buddha, Ramanujacharya, and many other saints were kept. Overall, one of the beautiful places to visit on a weekend around Bangalore.
To reach this place by bus, we can take busses from Uttarahalli or Kengeri. There are plenty of busses from Majestic and also from K.R.Market (city market) to both Kengeri and Uttarahalli. This hill comes near by J.S.S Academy of Technical Education, Kengeri.
If you are planning to go by own vehicle then it is better to start early in the morning so that it is possible to visit few more nearby places such as Shrungagiri Shanmukha temple, Dr. Vishnuvardhan Samadhi, and also Shridhara Gudda. All these places are situated on Uttarahalli-Kengeri road and very easy to locate.
